'Twas Good

Ahh yesterday was everything I hoped for. My little family + my mom. Todd made me the best ice cream cake EVER! That man...he loves me :) Layers of ice cream and oreo crumbles. So stinkin' good.  We just hung out, drank coffee, grilled and it was just perfect!

The 13th

Tomorrow marks my 30th year on this beautiful earth. I have gone back and forth with how I feel about this fact. At times it freaks me out...big time. Then there are times where, despite starting a family early into my twenties, I feel more womanly and less like a "young lady". After planting in my garden having a quiet moment to reflect (coffee in hand) and think about the impending, I felt such a sense of gratitude flood over me. God has graciously blessed me with THIRTY YEARS so far (let's hope for many many more wink wink)! Thirty years is a long time, albeit young compared to some, but still it's a pretty good chunk of time. I am just so very thankful for all that He has given me throughout my life thus far. I am truly blessed. So here's to my 30th! May the next 30 be just as sweet :)

Spring Planting

Oh how I loooovvvee spring!! With things being so busy here I'm slowly working on the outside. A little planting here and there. I have to work quickly in between naps and school work but it's something that brings me mucho happiness!And that's important!!

By the way!! I just read the other day that is really good for your plants to water them with the left over water you boiled your veggies and eggs in. I'm trying to remember and use that water instead of just pouring it down the drain. :)

Last Night I Dreamed of Chickens.....

there were chickens everywhere,

they were standing on my stomach,

they were nesting in my hair,

they were pecking at my pillow,

they were hopping on my head,

they were ruffling up their feathers

as they raced about my bed.

they were on the chairs and tables,

they were on the chandeliers,

they were roosting in the corners,

they were clucking in my ears,

there were chickens, chickens, chickens

for as far as I could see...

when I woke today, I noticed

there were eggs on top of me.

Gratitude

For the most part I try not to take anything for granted. I am so thankful for the life the Lord has blessed me with. This morning I was able to sit out on the deck (with Dash of course...silly pup) and just spend some time with Jesus. It was so precious. Days spent with a 7yr old, 6yr old, and 6month old can get pretty crazy so when I have quiet time...I am extra thankful! I started a fire in the fire pit, read Psalm 23, and was just still (except for some rocking and drinking my coffee). The Lord is so good and so merciful. He truly is the Good Shepherd.

And so far my favorite...Goose. You can't tell in this photo but she looks like she's wearing eyeliner. 

Last night we had our first one hatch and oh man did that send me in a tizzy. There's nothing you can do but just sit and wait. I felt like I needed to be boiling some water and grabbing some warm towels!!
